Full team on the ground

After the arrival in Nicaragua of both Jonathan and Martijn on the 17th of March, Roslyn joined the team in Granada on the evening of Friday the 31st , having been cruelly left behind in the cold to finalize the last crucial steps of incorporation of Casa Tortuga Holdings B.V.
On the eve of her departure a meeting was realized at the offices of AKD Prinsen Van Wijmen where shareholders signed the Participation Agreement, Share Issue Deed and Shareholders Resolution, clearing the way for the Management Team to finalize the incorporation of Casa Tortuga Nicaragua S.A.
On the other side of the Atlantic, Jonathan and Martijn were focusing their attention on the pursuit of the property at playa Gigante which had been identified in January. The day after arriving in Nicaragua, Jonathan viewed the property with his own eyes for the first time and was suitably impressed (to the relief of Martijn). On the 23rd a meeting was held with the owner where the specific outline for an agreement was discussed. As a result, a Spanish draft version of an offer is currently being prepared by Victor Lopez of Deloitte Touche Donkin & Arguello S.A. Rest assured the offer will be subject to the approval of the Supervisory Board.
In anticipation of reaching an agreement for this substantial piece of paradise overlooking the Nicaraguan Pacific, Management has been gathering information on a wide range issues that will become relevant in the very near future, such as a reputable Solar Energy Engineering office in Managua, the price p/cubic inch of high quality locally sourced wood, where best to look for a decent 2nd hand Toyota 4x4 and how to seduce volunteers from permaculture projects on near-by Omotepe island.
Just as Jonathan was so eager to see the property as soon as he arrived, Roslyn was equally anxious to set foot on the Promised Land. The day after arriving, the full team set out together for the first time and took with them Don Victor and his two sons from the Topography office of Sertori in Rivas. Don Victor and his sons spent the day taking measurements in order to design the ideal route for cutting a road to gain access to the top of the hill where the most important construction would take place. This may prove relevant during subsequent negotiations of the property. To the relief of both Jonathan and Martijn, Roslyn was also highly impressed - once she caught her breath enough to actually look up at the spectacular view!

With the objectives clearly set on doing the best possible deal on the property, this coming week will also see Management looking for temporary accommodation in Rivas as well as shopping for the first of two vehicles. As the Turtle picks up speed we hope you will keep-up and find inspiration in her progress!
