After due consideration and deliberation the team has purchased their first vehicle, a robust 1995 Nissan 4x4 pick-up complete with dismountable rear cover and a vibrant blue paint job!
To compensate for their mechanically-sheltered upbringing the team acquired the experience of a reputable auto mechanic to help ensure that the vehicle did indeed live up to the needs of their expedition. This contact will prove an invaluable check-mechanism for vehicle purchases in the future.
‘The Ant’, as he is now affectionately known (after the giant Russian plane the Antonov), has already completed his first intense mission – to negotiate some suspiciously steep and uneven dirt roads in search for the promised land south of San Juan del Sur. We can confirm he passed with flying colours!
With the Ant now on her team, the Turtle is in a position to overtake the Hare with ease, stamina and, above all, style.
