1st Cabana Underway

This past week has seen serious work starting on the first luxury cabana. The foundations are being built to the same structural specifications as other buildings but from the floor up more lightweight materials will be used. In the second picture you can see how bricks are being used to create a level frame which will then be filled in with stones and gravel. The first picture shows Kiore welding metal stakes on the downslope side which is where the most pressure is exerted.

Earlier today Thomas´s team finished leveling the outdoor terrace in front of the lounge which greatly improves the overall look of the main lodge. Anielka will now be able to come in and finish planting all the ornamental flowers and plants in that area. In this picture you can also see Harbin up in the rafters continuing the work of mounting the big roof beams. In the fourth picture you can see Pablo using the angle grinder to sand down yet more eucalyptus.

Thomas and his crew will now move to work on landscaping around the first luxury lodge since construction there is now all about the detailing. The final picture shows the roof structure of the second luxury lodge finished and waiting for the chowiton to go up. This work will start on Monday and should be completed within the week. By the way, that´s not a flower in the window sill, just a plastic bag.
