Documenting Progress
With the active team of employees now over 50 individuals strong (!) there is work underway on all fronts. The all-important road leading to the top of the property is advancing daily and the most difficult part is nearly completed. In other areas the storage bodega is already in use and there is work being done on the first compost toilet, the water system for both the agricultural needs as well as the domestic system, much needed maintenance of the access road as well as design preperations for the construction of the lodge and cabins in the months to come.
With construction of the core elements (lodge and cabins) coming ever closer we are in touch with a Danish film student who has expressed interest in coming to Nicaragua to document this crucial phase in the realization of Totoco Eco-lodge. She plans to stay with us for a full week during March and we are very excited to take advantage of her expertise. Besides documenting this phase of construction it has also been agreed that this will be a good opportunity to start preparing video-promotional material as part of the overall marketing strategy that will roll-out later in 2008.
