High season coming

As we move ever closer to the start of the coming high season all the focus of the Totoco team is on making our first two luxury lodges available for our first guests. After some delays we are happy to have the roof on the second lodge complete and Alfredo has started work detailing the interior. The third luxury lodge will be what was previously called cabin #9 and is being used as the temporary storage at the top. We are planning to pick-up work and finish that structure in the near future which will mean that our three highest earning accommodations can be available.
Nestor's team is storming ahead with the first
nature cabana which is indeed moving faster than the previous structures. In the picture you can see the half-moon shape of what will be
an impressive outdoor shower which will have a brick wall to just under head-height to allow for a truly natural experience. In the foreground of the third picture you can see the position of the second nature cabana has also been marked and materials have been moved in anticipation of work commencing there. You can see the first lodge on the right and the second lodge in the distance with the first cabana to the left.

The other main project running is of course the main lodge where Leonide has the lead in mounting the extensive framework for what will possibly be the largest chowiton roof anywhere in the world. This is of course assuming that chowiton roofs are indeed unique to Ometepe as we think.

On the personal front I can inform you all that Roslyn and her cargo are healthy and strong and that Patricia (Martijn's partner) has arrived safely on the island and is enjoying every moment despite the still constant rains. We hope to get her involved in the project very soon, not least with the translation of the website into Spanish.  It is the intention to have that website online in the coming week as a matter of fact.
