Ometepe + TOTOCO = Eco Hotspot!

As announced in the last blog update, a series of action points have been implemented as of June 1^st across different areas of operations in an effort to improve the lodge's cash flow. Investors will receive details of these actions points through from the supervisory board.

A positive development for Ometepe as a growing eco-destination is the recent announcement that it is now the third UNESCO Biosphere in Nicaragua after the Rio San Juan and the Indio Maiz.

A positive development for TOTOCO is that last week we received certification from the very reputable Rainforest Alliance (www.rainforest-alliance.org) as a business employing sustainable and responsible practices. This will allow us to use their logo on all promotional materials. We still have many areas in which we can improve our sustainable practices but we were already approved after the very first evaluation!

Work on the swimming pool project is well underway with phase 1 (44,000 liter rainwater capture tank) set for completion by Friday June 11^th. Excavation at the site of the swimming pool itself will commence next week.
