Concepcion burps
After 6 months of inactivity there was some action in the bowels of the neighbouring volcano which had a minor eruption on Sunday sending quantities of ash into the sky. Concepcion regularly releases clouds of ash which more often than not drift to the north-west in the direction of Moyogalpa and Rivas.
Things are busy on our volcano also but only in the area of construction. The brick walls are flying up fast on the multi-purpose storage section of the main lodge where there will be room for laundry services, a dry spot for components of the renewable energy system, 2 compost toilets and other storage facilities. Work on the cabin #1 is underway with cabin #2 set to begin in the coming week.
Leonide is the lead mason currently finishing the kitchen of the first manager's cottage who will be leading the team on cabin #2. The cob walls and floor in the main lounge in Martijn's cottage will be completed in January when the humidity is less but the bedroom and kitchen are nearly ready and Martijn hopes to move in by next week. The construction of the ferrocement pumpkin tank beside the cottage is also complete and has been a success.
